Growing up in Houston, I developed a passion for all the main Houston sports teams, the Astros, Rockets and Texans. Watching those teams play influenced me to play on basketball, football and baseball teams throughout my childhood. Playing those sports, on different teams with a variety of different personalities, in both teammates and coaches, really helped me learn all the different dynamics involved in sports. Some of the other things that I continue to love from my childhood include going fishing and baking.
My name is Ricardo Salinas, and I am a twenty-two-year-old Sport Management major at Rice University. I love everything about sports and I hope to incorporate sports in every aspect of my life from actually playing sports to working in the sports industry. I am also a senior on the Rice University baseball team, a top twenty-five baseball program in the country year in and year out. I was born in the great city of Houston, Texas to parents that have been beyond supportive in my sport endeavors.
